78th Anniversary of Liberation of Auschwitz

On 27 January 1945, Auschwitz was liberated. On this day around the world, we now mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
Ambassador Haughey attended a commemoration at Auschwitz to mark this day. Those in attendance heard powerful and moving personal testimonies from two survivors of Auschwitz, and laid candles in memory of those who were killed.
