Call for Applications for the Irish Aid Fellowships Training Programme 2018

We are pleased to announce that applications for 2018/2019 Government of Ireland Scholarship Awards are now open!

The Irish Fellowships Training programme is a global programme offering fully-funded fellowships for future leaders and influencers to study in Ireland.  If successful, you will live and study in Ireland, during which time you will develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience Irish culture, and build lasting positive relationships with Ireland.

Before starting your Scholarship application, you may wish to familiarize yourself with the following requirements:

Eligibility Criteria

  • be a Zambian citizen
  • be resident in Zambia 
  • have achieved the necessary academic standard to be accepted onto a master’s degree course in a higher education institution in Ireland
  • be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the development of Zambia
  • have identified relevant college courses in a higher education institution in Ireland
  • be applying to commence a new qualification and not be seeking funding for a course that has already commenced or which will begin before fellowship awards have been notified
  • be able to take up the fellowship in the academic year 2018
  • meet the required International English Language Test (IELTS) score for entry into Irish Universities www.ielts.org
  • Applications are open to those in key sectors such as nutrition, social protection, governance, agriculture, Food science, Social Policy/Research, Equality Studies, Women’s Studies, International Relations, skills development, market development, education , Financial Management & MBA.

Application documents for submission to the Embassy of Ireland, Plot 6663 Katima Mulilo Road, Olympia, Lusaka

  • a competed application form
  • two recent passport-size photographs.
  • a statement of intent using specific headings set out in the application pack
  • a current (dated) curriculum vitae
  • a certified copy of the completion or graduation certificate for each higher education qualification that you have completed
  • a certified copy of the academic transcript for all higher education qualifications and the grading schedule for each qualification 
  • original signed letters from two academic referees
  • a certified copy of your birth certificate 
  • a certified copy of the identity page of your passport
  • a completed Employer Endorsement Form along with a reference letter from your employer or other endorsing organisation acceptable to the Embassy/Mission on official letterhead, supporting your Irish Aid fellowship application for your proposed course of study
  • Supporting documents must be certified true copies of original documents
  • Please note that the quality of your statement of intent will be a key factor in how your application will be graded by the selection panel

The closing date for receipt of applications to the Embassy of Ireland in Zambia is 8th December 2017. Please refer to the Irish Aid Fellowships website www.irishaidfellowships.ie for more details.
