US Launch of Ireland for Finance Strategy

Minister D'Arcy addressing representatives from the banking, financial services, and legal industries at Ireland House NY.

Minister of State for Financial Services and Insurance Michael D’Arcy launched “Ireland for Finance” at Ireland House NY on July 17. The event was attended by representatives from the banking, financial services, and legal industries in the city. Minister D’Arcy was introduced by Deirdre O’Connor, international representative on the Government’s Industry Advisory Committee ich advised on the development of the strategy and will assist with its implementation.

Ireland for Finance is the new strategy for further development of the international financial services (IFS) sector of Ireland to 2025. The vision of the strategy is for Ireland to be a top-tier location of choice for specialist international financial services. This strategy builds off the success of IFS2020, the previous IFS five-year strategy launched in 2015.

Minister D’Arcy’s speech at the US launch highlighted New York’s role as a global financial center, saying “we need to continue the connections between New York’s financial services and the industry in Ireland, and we must also deepen and broaden them.”
