Ireland's Consular Strategy

Ireland's updated Consular Strategy builds on our first Consular Strategy published in 2019, setting out a detailed vision for how we will deliver consular services in the years ahead.

Our overarching commitment is that we “will promote an informed approach to international travel and support citizens when they require consular assistance abroad, including during large-scale consular crises.”

The Strategy sets out how we will  provide effective and responsive consular services in the years ahead in the interlinked areas of; Travel Advice; Consular Assistance; Crisis Response; Consular Services, and; Strengthening How We Work.
