I. Symposium
This 2-day symposium examines what we can learn from ancient Pilgrimages and how these ancient routes can support the regeneration of communities and our society in the post Covid era.

Historical overview and philosophical perspectives of Pilgrim routes in EU and Japan. Speakers will present and discuss routes in Japan (Shikoku Henro, Kumano Wakayama) and EU (Camino de Santiago, Spain, Famita Route Portugal, Tobar Phadraig and Croagh Patrick, Ireland and more).

Looking at Sustainable long term relations between local communities and visitors along Pilgrimage Routes in Europe and Japan. Speakers from each country will present projects related to art, tourism, health, participatory politics, etc.

A crew including a Writer, two Musicians, an Artist and a Stonemason embark on the Camino by sea, in a traditional boat that they built themselves on an inspiring, and dangerous, 2,500 km modern day Celtic odyssey all the way from Ireland to Northern Spain.

歴史的・学術的な視点から日本（四国遍路、和歌山県の熊野古道）とヨーロッパ（スペインのサンティアゴ巡礼道、ポルトガルのファティマ、アイルランドのトバー・ポーリック（英語で「パトリックスウェル」）やクロー・パトリック等）の巡礼道についてお話しいただきます。
