ZOCS is a local NGO that works to promote support for community schools in Zambia. Community Schools provide education for marginalised groups such as orphans, vulnerable and children with disabilities.  This contribution will go a long way to enable ZOCS to implement and monitor their programme activities across the country. Currently the organisation is providing access to primary education to approximately 110,000 orphans and vulnerable children while influencing policy changes for inclusive education. The community schools in Zambia currently account for 30 percent of the enrolments at primary school. Irelands’ development assistance to Zambia is centred on contributing to the country’s’ reduction of extreme poverty through increased resilience of the vulnerable as well as reducing inequality.
