Municipalities in Slovenia join the Global Greening 2022

Municipalities across Slovenia - Ljubljana, Bled, Dobrova–Polhov Gradec, Škofja Loka and Rogaška Slatina –  joined in the Global Greening initiative in 2022. The Slovenian buildings and sites were lighted up in green to mark Ireland’s national day and the many connection with Ireland, as well as being a symbol of hope and connection at this time of significant challenges.

The annual Global Greening initiative started in 2010, with the Sydney Opera House and the Sky Tower in Auckland 'going green' and this year will be the most ambitious ever Global Greening. From Rome to Rio and from London to Las Vegas, and a host of famous buildings and sites around the world turned a shade of green to mark Saint Patrick’s Day. The full Global Greening line-up this year that also took place in solidarity with Ukraine is available here
