Pursuing Common Goals - perspectives on Malta's foreign policy

The Ambassador participated in a panel discussion and Q&A on Women, Peace and Security as part of a symposium hosted by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion: "Pursuing Common Goals - perspectives on Malta's foreign policy."

The session on WPS was an opportunity to outline Ireland's experience over the course of our three National Action Plans and also marked the upcoming 20th anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325.

Fellow panel members were session chair Francesca Gatt, Director, Global Issues, International Development and Economic Affairs with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion, Her Excellency Ambassador Nada Draz of Egypt, and Dr Anna Khakee, Head of Department of International Relations, University of Malta.

This follows on from the recent lesson-sharing visit by our colleagues in the Conflict Resolution Unit of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as Malta embarks on the elaboration of the first National Action Plan. This programme facilitated engagement with colleagues in the Foreign Ministry and other Ministries, as well as representatives from civil society and academia.
