St Patrick's Day 2021

This year Ireland’s National Day was celebrated virtually. The online reception on 17 March saw greetings from Ireland’s Taoiseach, Micheál Martin T.D., President of Malta H.E. George Vella, and the Ambassador of Ireland to Malta, Patrick Duffy. We were treated to a selection of very special cultural performances from Ireland and Malta. This brought together traditional and contemporary music, song, and poetry by our wonderful performers Ireland’s Clannad & Denise Chalia, Cormac Begley, Doireann Ní Ghríofa, and Malta’s SterjoTipi featuring Amber. While the traditional celebrations could not take place due to the pandemic, the Embassy was honoured to have had the opportunity to celebrate Ireland’s National Day in a different manner which was well received by the public.
