Climate Diplomacy Week in Malta

Climate Diplomacy Week in Malta

Climate Diplomacy Exhibition

The Embassy was a proud contributor towards Climate Diplomacy Week in Malta. The launch event took place at Spazju Kreattiv, Valletta and included the opening of the photo exhibition 'The Threat of Climate Change to Cultural Heritage' by Malta's Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government Owen Bonnici. Countries displayed how climate change is effecting national monuments around Europe and how this phenomenon is being addressed. Ireland's participation was made possible with the support of Office of Public Works Ireland and National Monuments Service, Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. The exhibition will run until 20 October. The launch of the exhibition was followed by a film short 'Kokota: The Islet of Hope' charting how the islanders have achieved economic and social benefits through tackling climate change. This was followed by an informative panel discussion.
