Ireland Fellows Programme - Latin America 2024-25 now open

The Embassy of Ireland, Bogotá, is delighted to announce that the Ireland Fellows Programme - Latin America 2024-25 is now open for applications from candidates in Colombia and Venezuela.
The Ireland Fellows Programme Roger Casement Award in Human Rights was established to honour the memory of the Irish human rights activist Roger Casement, who served as British Consul-General in Brazil in the early twentieth-century. Roger Casement was instrumental in shedding light on human rights abuses in the Amazon region. The Roger Casement Award will enable young professionals to undertake a master’s level course of study in the field of human rights, peace and development in Ireland each year.
Selected candidates will have the opportunity to undertake a fully funded one-year master’s level programme at a higher education institution (HEI) in Ireland, commencing from August/ September 2024. Eligible programmes include those in the fields of Development Studies, Human Rights, Peace Studies, International Relations, Politics, Public Policy International Law, Human Rights Law, Business Law, Women’s Studies, Gender Studies and Equality Studies.
Candidates must fulfil the following minimum requirements:
- Be a resident national of Colombia or Venezuela
- English language proficiencies required for all programmes chosen (IELTS minimum overall score of 6.5/score on Duolingo above 120)
- Have a minimum of three years’ substantial work experience that is directly relevant to your proposed programme(s) of study.
- Not already hold a qualification at master’s level or higher. Not currently undertaking a programme at master’s level or higher, or be due to start a programme at master’s level or higher in the academic year 2023/24.

La Embajada de Irlanda, Bogota, se complace en anunciar que el Programa de Becarios de Irlanda- America Latina 2024-25 ya está abierto para solicitudes de candidatos en Colombia y Venezuela.
El premio Roger Casement del programa de becarios de Irlanda en derechos humanos se estableció para honrar la memoria del activista irlandés de derechos humanos Roger Casement, quien se desempeñó como cónsul general británico en Brasil a principios del siglo XX. Roger Casement fue fundamental para dar a conocer los abusos contra los derechos humanos en la región amazónica. El Premio Roger Casement le permitirá a los jóvenes profesionales realizar un curso de estudios de nivel de maestría en el campo de los derechos humanos, la paz y el desarrollo en Irlanda cada año.
Los candidatos seleccionados tendrán la oportunidad de realizar un programa de maestría de un año totalmente financiado en una institución de educación superior (HEI) en Irlanda, que generalmente comienza en agosto/septiembre 2024. Los programas elegibles incluyen aquellos en los campos de Estudios de Desarrollo, Derechos Humanos, Estudios de Paz, Relaciones Internacionales, Política, Derecho Internacional de Políticas Públicas, Derecho de Derechos Humanos, Derecho Comercial, Estudios de la Mujer, Estudios de Género y Estudios de Igualdad.
Los candidatos deben cumplir con los siguientes requisitos mínimos:
- Ser ciudadano residente de Colombia o Venezuela
- Dominio del idioma inglés requerido para todos los programas elegidos (puntaje general mínimo de IELTS de 6.5/puntaje en Duolingo por encima de 120)
- Tener un mínimo de tres años de experiencia laboral sustancial que sea directamente relevante para su(s) programa(s) de estudio propuesto(s).
- No tener ya una calificación a nivel de maestría o superior. No estar realizando actualmente un programa a nivel de maestría o superior, o en proceso de comenzar un programa a nivel de maestría o superior en el año académico 2023/24.
