The Long Gaze Back - One City One Book
Event
21 September 2018The Embassy of Ireland in conjunction with Passa Porta are delighted to announce The Long Gaze Back, a special event as part of the Dublin One City One Book initiative. The event will take place on Wednesday, 10 October at 20:00.
One City, One Book is a Dublin City Council initiative which encourages everyone to read a book connected with the Irish capital each year.
In The Long Gaze Back – An Anthology of Irish Women Writers, Sinéad Gleeson draws on Ireland’s great storytelling tradition to bring together 30 stories from the past 300 years by classic and contemporary Irish female writers.
In the words of the Editor, this rich anthology of older and newer stories looks back “over the long arc of Irish women’s’ writing” and brings together a powerful and beautiful range of voices which have been absent for far too long.
At this event moderated by Elke D'hoker, the editor Sinéad Gleeson and leading Irish writers Eimear McBride, Mary Costello and Lia Mills will shed light on Irish rich tradition of storytelling and present a reading of their works.
This event has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Dublin City Council, through the Dublin One City One Book initiative.
More info and tickets are now available at Passa Porta.
We look forward to seeing you on 10 October.
