Dec 3: Irish Christmas in America at the Old Town School of Folk Music at 4 pm and 8 pm, produced by Sligo fiddler Oisín Mac Diarmada.
Dec 4: Gaelic Park Book Club offers an opportunity to read and discuss and array of books by Irish authors. Next book is When All Is Said by Anne Griffin.
Dec 9: Julie Morrissy at the Newberry Library - A Poetry Reading sponsored by the Newberry Irish Studies Scholarly Seminar with Julie Morrissy, University of Notre Dame.
Dec 9: Christmas 'Chairoling' with Glass Half Empty at the Fifth Provence 8 pm at Irish American Heritage Center
Dec 10: The Great Irish Book Club at the Library of the Irish American Heritage Center 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm is reading 'Small Things Like These' by Claire Keegan.
Dec 10: The Celtic Angels along with the Celtic Knight Dancers perform at 8 pm at Chicago's Gaelic Park.
Dec 11: An Cailín Ciúin / The Quite Girl The Chicago Irish Film Festival in partnership with the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival screens Ireland's 2023 Academy Award submission at the Chicago History Museum at 2:30 pm.
Dec 18: Cherish The Ladies at the Irish American Heritage Center of Chicago at 4 pm.
Minnesota
Dec 8: Learn to cook Mad Sweeney’s Watercress Souffle with Shelagh Mullen in time to accompany the Christmas roast! Enjoy preparing the delicious green and cheesy souffle in this online class for $25.
Dec 9-17: Celtic Holiday Hooley is a hosted variety show with Irish music, sketches, step dance, caroling, and more at the Celtic Junction Arts Center in St. Paul, MN. Presented by the O’Shea Irish Dancers with a world-class band which includes three-time Live Ireland Awards “Best Vocalist of the Year” Norah Rendell. Choreography and music by original Riverdancer, Cormac O’Sé, of Dublin.
Wisconsin
Dec 3: At 9 am and 11:30 am Brunch with Santa at the CelticMKE center in Wauwatosa.
Dec 11: University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee Center for Celtic Studies at 3:00pm a reading of James Joyce’s famous short story The Dead. Set at a Christmas party in the home of the writer’s aunts, the story famously captures the hospitality of a Dublin Christmas in times past. In the Joyce Room at the County Clare on 1234 N Astor St, Milwaukee.
Dec 11: Merry and Bright: A Holiday Concert with Kim Robertson, Brett Lipshutz & Friends which will include traditional Celtic, Christmas and Hanukkah tunes.
