Passport Applications

The Consulate is no longer mailing or accepting passport application forms. The Passport Service is now directing all Irish citizens to use the online system to complete their passport application. 

As of April 29th, the Passport Service has expanded services offered through the online passport application system and is operational for all applicant types in the United States.

If you are not eligible to apply online, or do not wish to do so, then you can apply directly to your local Embassy or Consulate. The Consulate General of Ireland in Chicago accepts applications from Irish citizens resident in Alabama, Arkansas, North & South Dakota, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
