WTO - World Trade Organisation
Ireland has been a member of the WTO since it was established on 1st January 1995.
As a small, open export-oriented economy we support the rules based multilateral trading system which the WTO underpins. In practical terms Ireland participates in the WTO as part of the European Union and is represented at the WTO by the Permanent Mission of Ireland to the UN in Geneva.
