Ambassador Kevin Colgan

Welcome Message

Dia dhaoibh go léir. Fáilte go hAmbasáid na hÉireann!

I am delighted to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of Ireland in Uganda, which I hope you will find useful and informative. In addition to providing information on the services provided by the Embassy, it is a source of facts on Ireland and Uganda, and on the links between our two countries. Ireland has a long-standing and strong relationship with Uganda. Our bilateral ties now cover many areas – cultural, political, development and economic. We have, since 1994, a vibrant and high impact development cooperation programme in Uganda, focusing on the areas of education, HIV/AIDS, social protection, refugee support and governance.

The wider East Africa region has been recognised as having major potential for Irish exporters. In line with Ireland's recent policy review: The Global Island: Ireland's Foreign Policy for a Changing World  the Embassy is committed to deepening our engagement with the private sector and we are doing so, for example, through our support to the Uganda Investment Authority, which, we hope, will support improvements to the business environment for Irish and Ugandan companies, and facilitate two-way trade and investment.

If you believe that the Embassy may be able to assist you in exploring opportunities for trade with Ireland or in Uganda please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We often arrange cultural and social events for our Irish community and friends. If you would like to be added to our database to attend these events, please Contact Us
