Accounts and Administrative Officer

The Embassy of Ireland, Bangkok is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Accounts and Administrative Officer.

The successful candidates will be hired on a fixed-term two-year contract, with a 3-month period of probation.  Candidates must have a permanent, legal right to reside and work in the Kingdom of Thailand and will be subject to Thai employment law.

Accounts and Administration Assistant

Salary scale:  THB 608,928 - THB 881, 469 (increases to THB 926,893 after 3 years on the end of scale). A healthcare package is also provided.

The jobholder will play a key role in the work of the Embassy, including general financial and administrative support, providing consular services and assistance, and supporting Irish citizens and others with the many services that the Embassy provides.

ESSENTIAL/KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must have fluency in both English and Thai;
  • Candidates musthave a degree, preferably in disciplines such as:
    • Finance
    • Economics
    • Business Administration
    • Accounting
    • Candidates must have at least two year's administrative and procurement experience in an office support function;
    • Candidates must have minimum of one year's experience in DP1 and VAT exemption processes;
    • Ability to read and understand financial documents and interpret regulations;
    • A good understanding of the role of the Department of Foreign Affairs;
    • Computer literacy and information management skills;
    • High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite;
    • Experience of working in a team environment; and
    • Examples demonstrating a high level of discretion, commitment, reliability and attention to detail, showing thorough follow-through on projects assigned.

 

Other requirements:

  • Some out-of-office hours can be expected. 

Location:

Embassy of Ireland, Bangkok

Contract duration:

The successful candidates will be hired on a fixed-term two-year contract, with a 3-month period of probation. 

Working hours:

37.5 hours per week (09:00-17:30) with some occasional additional hours including some evening and weekend work (leave time-in-lieu will be offered for this work).

 

Individuals unable to occasionally work out-of-hours should not apply for these posts.

Salary:

Entry point of scale. Health insurance is also provided.

Annual leave:

16 days per annum and public holidays with leave time-in-lieu for occasional evening/weekend work.
