Polska Éire Festival, Ireland 21-29 March 2015

Polska Éire 2015. Polish-Irish Festival, 21-29 March 2015

To champion the diversity that Polish people bring to Ireland, PolskaÉire 2015 was established as a nationwide festival to coincide with the UEFA Republic of Ireland vs. Poland qualifier played in Dublin on 29 March.

This initiative was led by the Minister of State for New Communications, Culture and Equality, Aodhán Ó Riordáin T.D. (Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and Department for Justice and Equality), the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dublin and the Football Association of Ireland. The festival was supported by Dublin City Council and other local authorities, along with many Polish organisations and cultural, community and sporting groups across the country.

It is estimated that there are nearly 125,000 Polish citizens living in Ireland resulting in Polish becoming the second most widely spoken language on the island.

Throughout the festival, cultural and sporting events were open to everyone to take part in all across Ireland. More information can be found in the full Festival programme and you can see photos of the various events on facebook.com/PolskaEire
