New Zealand Welfare Fund
News
20 September 2021
The Welfare Fund is an initiative of the Embassy of Ireland in partnership with a number of Irish Community groups in Aotearoa New Zealand to assist with respect, compassion and sensitivity any Irish people who find themselves here with limited or no capacity to pay for necessary goods and services.
Partner groups include the Wellington Irish Society, Auckland Irish Club, Christchurch Irish Society, Hutt Valley Irish Society, Hamilton Irish Society, Invercargill Irish Society, Taranaki Irish Society and the Queenstown Gaels GAA Club.
The Welfare Fund has an assessment process and once this is completed may provide assistance in the form of a contribution towards accommodation, medical, utility, grocery and other costs. For the purposes of this policy, Irish people are defined as Irish passport holders. For further information, please contact the Embassy or Honorary Consulate in Auckland.
If you need assistance, contact us here.
