Ireland's Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Ms. Mary Mitchell O'Connor T.D. is to visit Japan from 16-18 November on he final leg of a trip to Asia. Minister Mitchell O'Connor is visiting Japan to promote links between Japan and Ireland in the areas of trade, investment and innovation.

While visiting Japan, Minister Mitchell O'Connor will be accompanied by senior officials from Ireland's inward investment promotion agency, IDA Ireland, and Enterprise Ireland (EI), the government organisation responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markers. In addition to holding meetings with key business leaders from the life sciences and information communication technology sectors, Minster Mitchell O'Connor is due to meet with counterparts in the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).

Minister Mitchell O'Connor will be the third Irish minister to visit Japan in 2016, following visits by the Minister for Financial Services in September and the Minister for Training, Skills and Innovation in October. further underlining the importance of Japan to Ireland.

11月16日から18日にかけ、アイルランドのメアリー・ミッチェル・オコナー雇用・産業・技術大臣が、アジア歴訪の最終目的地として日本を訪問します。ミッチェル・オコナー大臣の来日は、通商、投資、イノベーションの各分野における両国の関係促進を目的としています。
ミッチェル・オコナー大臣は、アイルランド政府産業開発庁（アイルランドへの海外直接投資を誘致する政府機関）並びにアイルランド政府商務庁（世界市場でのアイルランド企業の成長・発展を促進する政府機関）の高官と共に来日します。ライフサイエンス、情報通信技術の各分野における重要なビジネスリーダーの方々と会合を行うほか、経済産業省、日本貿易振興機構（ジェトロ）との会談を予定しています。
2016年、アイルランドの閣僚の来日は、9月の金融サービス担当大臣、10月の訓練・技能・技術革新担当大臣に続き、ミッチェル・オコナー大臣で3人目となります。これは、アイルランドにとって日本の重要性が増していることを明確に示すものです。
