Passport Service of Ireland, Great Britain

Ireland has moved to Level 5 of the Government’s National Framework for Living with Covid-19, and the Passport Service in Ireland has paused the processing of passport applications from 24 December 2020.

Due to the Coronavirus COVID19 situation the Passport Office in London will remain closed until further notice, although the team are continuing to answer urgent queries.

Passport Online

You can still apply online for your passport, and online applications will be the first applications to be processed when the Passport service resumes operations.

In the meantime, if you have submitted supporting documentation to us, they will be held securely.   However, we cannot retrieve supporting documents at this time.  We expect to return your supporting documents within 20 working days of resuming operations at Level 4.

If you have not submitted supporting documents, please wait until Ireland has returned to Level 4 or lower on the National Framework for Living with Covid-19.

The Online Service is open to all applicants, including children, renewing their passports and those applying for their first passport who are resident in Ireland, UK, EU, EEA and Switzerland.
