Fees and Where to apply

If you are renewing your passport, you are over 18 and are not changing any of the details recorded in your passport you should apply using our Online Passport Application Service.

Online Fees

Apply in Person or By Post

If you are applying for the first time or wish to change details recorded in your passport, you may submit your completed passport application in person during public office hours to the Embassy of Ireland in Vienna or by post in accordance with the instructions below. Paper application forms can be collected at the embassy or can be posted out to you. To ask for an application form send us an email with your address.

Emergency Travel Certificates/Document

In very limited and specific circumstances, a temporary passport may be issued. This does not apply to first time applicants. If applicable an additional out-of-hours fee of €80 will be charged.

Payment

Fees can be paid in cash at the Embassy or by bank transfer (“Überweisung“) from an Austrian bank account to the following account:

If you choose to pay by bank transfer (“Überweisung“) please include a copy of the bank transfer counterfoil slip ("Überweisungsbeleg") with your application.

Posting your Application

Please do not send cash in postal application.

We would encourage you to consult the relevant section of our website regarding the service you require before contacting the Embassy. Passport application forms can be ordered online by email.

If you choose to post your application, we strongly recommend that you use registered mail or a reputable courier service. The Embassy cannot be held responsible for applications or documents lost in transit.
