Once again, Ambassador Mary Whelan held a reception at her residence to mark St Patrick's Day in Vienna.
This year, Ambassador Whelan had the special honour to include a performance by one of the world's top saxophone players, Mr Gerard McChrystal from Co. Derry. Gerard wowed the audience with a performance that included blues, an Irish reel and a song written specially for him by the renowned composer Michael McGlynn.
In addition, proving that Irish culture knows no borders, the crowd was treated to some music on the Uilleann Pipes, played by Austrian piper Thomas Kriszt.
The reception was once again a great success. Ambassador Whelan would like to wish everyone a happy St. Patrick's Day.
