Ambassador White pays official visit to Tasmania

Ambassador White paid an official visit to Tasmania from 25 – 26 August. His programme included official meetings with Premier of Tasmania, the Hon Will Hodgman MP and His Excellency The Hon. Justice Alan Blow OAM QC, Lieutenant-Governor and Chief Justice of Tasmania.

Ambassador White also paid a visit to Port Arthur. The Historic Site is amongst the best-preserved convict settlements in Australia and among the most significant convict era sites in the world. Spread over 40 hectares, the Site contains more than 30 historic buildings and ruins, including the cottage built for Young Irelander leader William Smith O’Brien during his incarceration at Port Arthur from 1849 – 1854.
