Former Taoiseach John Bruton visits Shanghai

Former Taoiseach and Chairman of IFSC Ireland, John Bruton, visited Shanghai, as part of a wider visit to China, to promote links with the financial services sector.

John Bruton visits CEIBS

In addition to his programme of financial sector meetings arranged with IDA Ireland, former Taoiseach Bruton delivered a speech at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) on the Political and Economic Situation in the European Union and Ireland with particular reference to the Financial Services Industry.

Mr. Bruton’s speech dealt with some of the central trends in European economic and financial governance in recent years, including monetary union, fiscal coordination, common banking supervision and steps towards a single capital market in Europe.
