New Ambassadors present Credentials

13 September 2019Their Excellencies, the Ambassador of Malaysia, the Ambassador of Japan, and the Ambassador of Mongolia presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.
H.E. Mr. Zakaria Nasir, Ambassador of Malaysia was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Junainah Che Ali, daughters Farah Azwin Zakaria and Nadia Ailinz Zakaria, and by Ms. Siti Noralia Mustaza, First Secretary, Embassy of Malaysia.
H.E. Mr. Mitsuru Kitano, Ambassador of Japan was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Yoshie Kitano, and by Mr. Kenichiro Sasame, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission.
H.E. Mr. Tulga Narkhuu, Ambassador of Mongolia, travelled from London for the event. He was accompanied by Ms. Enkhtuya Ganzorig, Second Secretary, Embassy of Mongolia
Mr. Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran, T.D., Minister of State for the Office of Public Works and Flood Relief, represented the Government at the ceremony.
The following were also present: Mr. Conor Ó Raghallaigh, Deputy Secretary General to the President; Mr. Brendan Rogers, Deputy Secretary General, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Ms. Emma Madigan, Chief of Protocol, Mr. Joe Brennan and Ms. Marylee Wall, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Ambassadors were accompanied to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2 Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Brian O’Shea.
A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 2nd Artillery Regiment, Custume Barracks, Athlone, under the command of Lieutenant Brian Clarke.
Captain Thomas Kelly conducted the Army No. 2 Band, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin.
