The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Coveney T.D., has strongly condemned the suicide bombing that took place in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on 14 February, killing at least 40 security personnel. He is equally concerned at the increasing levels of violence in the region, including incidents which have claimed several lives today.
The Tánaiste stated:
I would like to extend to extend my deepest condolences to the families of those killed and injured in last week’s attack in Pulwama. Such attacks cause unimaginable suffering and can never be justified. Ireland will continue to work with India and the international community to support a comprehensive international response to preventing and countering terrorism.
