New Ambassadors present Credentials20 April 2011
Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of the Republic of Croatia, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Republic of Honduras and the Republic of Tunisia, presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.
H.E. Ms. Jasna Ognjanovac, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, resident in Dublin, was accompanied by Ms. Ružica Januš, First Secretary at the Embassy;
H.E. Mr. Paramente Phamotse, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho, also resident in Dublin, was accompanied by his wife, Moipone Augustine, their daughter Maserero Faith and by Mr. Phakiso Ralepoma, Counsellor at the Embassy;
H.E. Mr. Hernán Antonio Bermúdez, Ambassador of the Republic of Honduras, is resident in Sweden; and
H.E. Mr. Hatem Atallah, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia, resident in London, was accompanied by his wife, Faika and their son Malek.
Ms. Lucinda Creighton, T.D., Minister of State for European Affairs, represented the Government at the ceremony.
The following were also present: Mr. Adrian O’Neill, Secretary-General to the President; Mr. David Donoghue, Assistant Secretary, Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol, and Ms. Marion O’Donnell, Ms. Jane Connolly and Mr. Nigel Hutson, Assistant Chiefs of Protocol, at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Second Lieutenant Fergal Reilly.
The Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by troops drawn from the 3rd Infantry Battalion, Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny, under the command of Lieutenant Declan Barrett.
The Army No. 1 Band was conducted by Captain Fergal Carroll.
