On Monday 12 March 2018, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar was honoured to commemorate and thank Chief Gary Batton and the Choctaw people for their kindness to Ireland during Ireland's Great Famine in 1847. The Taoiseach attended a beautiful ceremony in Durant, Oklahoma to formally recognise the solidarity and compassion demonstrated by the Choctaw people 171 years ago during our country's darkest hour

Dublin, 31st January 2018: Irish wave energy technology company, Ocean Energy, today announced that its pioneering wave energy convertor, the ‘OE Buoy’, will be built in the United States by Oregon-based marine-fabrication company Vigor, and deployed at the US Navy’s Wave Energy Test Site on the Hawaiian Island of O’ahu in autumn 2018.

The Embassy of Ireland in Washington DC is seeking to recruit a self-motivated and organised research and administrative assistant to work primarily to both the Agriculture and Justice Counsellors at the Embassy. The appointment is a full-time position, with the possibility of ongoing employment after satisfactorily completing an initial six month probationary period.
