The Ambassador, Anne Anderson is delighted that Barbra Streisand really liked the Irish soda bread! You too can enjoy it. Here is the recipe!

 Ambassador Anderson with Barbra Streisand

10oz whole wheat flour
3 1/2 oz all purpose flour
2 oz oat flakes
2 oz steel cut oats (a.k.a. pinhead oats)
1 oz wheat bran
3/4 teaspoon baking soda(sifted)
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
14 fl oz buttermilk

Mix the dry ingredients together.
Add the egg and buttermilk and mix gently until just combined.
Put the mixture into a greased cake tin and flatten slightly with wet spatula. Dust with whole wheat flour.
Bake @ 160c (320f) for 65 minutes, or until skewer comes out dry.
Turn onto cake rack to cool.

Enjoy with lots of Irish butter!
