St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Madrid

The Embassy was delighted to support the Irish community in Madrid in organising a family-friendly celebration of St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday, 15 March, the first such celebration to take place in the Spanish capital.  The event, which was free to access, saw an attendance in excess of one thousand people, including both Irish residents here in Spain and many Spanish friends of Ireland.  Entertainment included live Irish music, Irish dancing, a Galician pipe hand and a GAA tournament and training sessions for children.
