Celebrating St Patrick's Day

Photograph of Irish Dancing

To mark the start of the St Patrick's Day period, the Embassy of Ireland will host an evening of Irish music and dance at the Slovenian Philharmonic Hall, on Thursday 12 March  at 19.00. This concert will include musical performances by Slovene groups Noreia, Bog Bards and members of the Ljubljana Mandolin Orchestra, who will be joined by dancers from the school of Irish Dancing (“Šola irskega plesa”).

This event will also celebrate Ljubljana's participation in Tourism Ireland's "Global Greening" initiative in which cities all over the world light up their most recognised landmarks in green. This year, Ljubljana castle and Slovenian Philharmonic Hall will be lit up in green during the St. Patrick's Day period.
