Ambassador Tony Cotter

Ambassador Cotter became Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in September 2014.

Message from Ambassador

It is always a great honour to be asked to represent your country as Ambassador. I am particularly pleased to have been appointed to represent Ireland in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (with secondary accreditation for the Kingdom of Bahrain, Republic of Iraq, Sultanate of Oman and Republic of Yemen). Saudi Arabia is a very important country globally in both political and economic terms. It is the only Arab country to be a member of the G20. There is a longstanding and very positive relationship between Ireland and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I will wish to do everything I can to further develop and strengthen this relationship during my term in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

About the Ambassador

Ambassador Cotter has almost 40 years of experience of working across the Irish public service and has also previously had the honour of representing Ireland as Ambassador to the Republic of Zambia.
