I want to apply for an Irish visa but I need my passport back as I have to travel abroad before my date of travel to Ireland. What can I do?

You can submit your application and your original passport at a VFS application centre. You should also submit a full photocopy of your passport; this will be checked against your original passport and your passport returned to you immediately. Once you have returned to Russia, you may contact the visa office in Embassy of Ireland, Moscow, to make the necessary arrangements for the visa to be affixed, in the event that your application is successful.

Citizens of and visa required Nationals resident in Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan may post or courier a notarised copy of their passport with their application to the visa office of the Embassy of Ireland in Moscow. Applicants must post or courier their original passport for the visa to be affixed in the event that the application is successful.
