Fundacja Kultury Irlandzkiej (Irish Culture Foundation) is a voluntary organisation which promotes Irish culture in Poland. It is based in Poznań but organises events throughout the country.

FKI arranges exhibitions, lectures, workshops, concerts, learning materials and much more related to Ireland, Irish history and Irish culture.

FKI’s successful schools programme Irlandia w szkole (Ireland at School) has been running for many years, providing presentations and workshops about Ireland for all school levels in Poland.

FKI has organised celebrations of St. Brigid’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween and Bloomsday in recent years, with a variety of online and offline initiatives supported by many partners across the country.

FKI, alongside the Faculty of English at Adam Mickiewicz University and the Honorary Consulate of Ireland in Poznań, organised the “Oswajanie Joyce’a” (Taming Joyce) series of online lectures from October 2021 to June 2022. This series comprised of eight events welcoming the very best experts in the writing and life of James Joyce, with the aim of making James Joyce more accessible and enjoyable for readers in Poland. This work on Joyce came in perfect time to mark the new Polish translation of Ulysses in 2021 and the centenary of the first publication of Ulysses in 2022.

FKI has worked closely with the Embassy of Ireland in Warsaw on many cultural projects, providing invaluable support to our promotion of Ireland and Irish culture in Poland.

Fundacja Kultury Irlandzkiej is generously sponsored by Santander Bank in Poland and has been in receipt of funding from the Emigrant Support Programme on several occasions.

Further information about FKI's activities can be found on their website and Facebook page.
