Embassy staff participates in Election Monitoring

Denis O’Leary from the Embassy recording election monitoring results on a mobile app, Presidential election, Nigeria, 28 May 2015. Denis was one of three Embassy short-term observers who participated in the EU Election Observer Mission to Nigeria. Along with Ambassador Hoy, he observed elections in the FCT and Kogi states. Aoife Ní Fhearghail from the Embassy also observed in Nasarawa and Kano states and former Irish politician Cecilia Keaveney participated as a long-term observer. The Embassy was delighted to witness peaceful elections and encourages the incoming administration to govern in the interests of its citizens.
