Ambassadors march in solidarity with missing Chibok girls

Ambassador Hoy and Ambassador Gettermann (Denmark) march with 219 schoolgirls to show their solidarity with the Chibok girls. The march took place on 14 April, one year since the taking of the Chibok girls.

Visit to Nasarawa state

The Embassy visited Lafia where we will have one election observer team for the 28 March Presidential elections. Ambassador Sean Hoy met with the Commissioner for Peace C.P. Sani Mohammed, the Residential Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Danyaya, and Fr. Donal Fennessy, an Irish priest who has spent over 50 years in the region.

Visit to Kogi state

15-16 February 2015

The Ambassador travelled to Adah in Kogi state to visit a yam propagation programmed which was funded by Irish Aid in 1994. He also travelled to Lokoja where he met with H.E. Governor (Captain) Wada.

President Jonathan's New Year greeting for the diplomatic corps

Ambassador Hoy attended the New Year reception for he diplomatic corps hosted by H.E. President Jonathan.

Presentation of certificates to Nigerian Ports Authority managers

6 February 2015

Aoife Ní Fhearghail deputised for Ambassador Hoy and presented certificates to senior managers of the Nigerian Ports Authority who had competed the UNCTAD Train for Trade ports Training Coaching Workshop. The Train for Trade programme promotes the sharing of knowledge and expertise between port operators and communities. Dublin Port, Belfast Harbour Commissioners and the Port of Cork are actively engaged in the programme. Ireland - through Irish Aid - contributes to the finding of the programme in Nigeria and Ghana.
