Reception for University of Limerick students on work placement in Luxembourg

On 21 April 2015 Ambassador Carpenter held a reception at the Embassy for University of Limerick students on work placement in Luxembourg.

About 2,000 students are placed on the Cooperative Education programme (or undergraduate placement) at the University of Limerick every year, with about 30% placed internationally. This makes it one of the largest placement programmes in Europe. Some 1,600 employers participate in the programme annually and about 75% of these employers also employ UL graduates.

The University of Limerick has been named 'University of the Year 2015” in the Sunday Times Good University Guide. UL’s leading position in graduate employability, strong research commercialisation, the €52million Bernal Project in science and engineering and a rising academic performance were among the reasons for the Award.
