Launch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann in Italy

To celebrate the opening of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann in Italy, the Embassy hosted a reception and performance of traditional Irish music by renowned Irish musicians Johnny Ringo McDonagh (bodhrán), Harry Bradley (flute) and Jesse Smith (fiddle). They were accompanied on the evening by a selection of Italian musicians.

The launch was followed by a Festival Di Musica Irlandese Di Roma from 5-7 December in Rome with workshops during the day on the bodhrán, fiddle and flute which were attended by Italian and Irish musicians and those enthusiastic to learn more about Irish traditional music. Performances were also held each night in different venues thoughout Rome.
