Emigrant Support Programme Reception 2016

Ambassador Dan Mulhall hosted an event with the Irish community organisations from across Britain who received 2016 Emigrant Support Programme funding. The Emigrant Support Programme supports Irish communities overseas by funding non-profit organisations and projects. This year, over £4.7million in grants has been provided to 108 organisations in support of a range of projects across Britain and was announced by Minister of State for Diaspora, Joe McHugh T.D.. The organisations we support offer invaluable assistance to our emigrants, especially the most vulnerable, through advice and welfare programmes. As Minister McHugh highlighted: “This funding is also important for supporting a vibrant and active Irish community Britain, the value of which has only been heightened as we face into challenging and uncertain times.”

The Embassy compiled a special collection of photos from 2016 from many of the Irish community organisations, who have benefited from the funding.
