The Secretary General of DFAT in Ireland, Mr. Niall Burgess, visits Ethiopia

On the 8th of September the Secretary General of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Ireland, Mr. Niall Burgess, arrived in Addis Ababa for a short visit to the Irish Embassy and to monitor the progress of the Irish Aid bilateral programme in Ethiopia. He was accompanied by Mr. Michael Gaffey, the Director-General of Irish Aid, Mr. Fergal Mythen, Director-General (Corporate Services), and Mr. John Conlon, Chief Financial Officer. During his stay Mr. Burgess travelled to Tigray to see firsthand the valuable work of our partners in the region. He also had the opportunity to meet with members of the international community in Addis and Ambassador Berhane Gebre-Christos, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, to discuss further strengthening of cooperation between the two nations.
