Irish at international literature festivals

May 2016, Tallinn and Tartu 

In May, two international literature festivals take place in Tartu (Prima Vista) and in Tallinn (HeadRead), bringing to Estonia many acclaimed literary persons and enlivening the Estonian literary society, creating a perfect timing and audience to introduce a ‘play’ by an Irish actor Frank Boyle.

UNIFIL Conference

The conference will be hosted in collaboration with the International Centre for Defence and Security and the Embassy of Finland in Tallinn on the role of small member states (Ireland, Estonia, Finland) in multilateral peacekeeping UN and OSCE missions.

Public event hosted by the Embassy and the University of Notre Dame on 10th May 2016 in Tallinn to commemorate the Easter Rising 1916 and to re-frame historical events around and arising from that time in Ireland and elsewhere in Europe.

Ireland on Stage at Europe Day celebrations

Europe Day is annually celebrated in Tallinn with a day full of activities and performances, incl. open doors day of all EU missions resident in Estonia, big food fair and information tent on the city centre’s biggest square – Freedom Square. The event is mostly organised by the EC Rep in Estonia. The day features various activities for people of all ages, e.g. concerts, competitions, leisure activities, interviews.
