150th Anniversary of the birth of William B. Yeats – University of Cyprus Cultural Centre, Axiothea Mansion, Old city of Nicosia - Monday, 19th October 2015 at 20:30

The University of Cyprus in collaboration with the Embassy of Ireland in Cyprus organised an event commemorating to the Nobel Prize-winning Irish poet and playwright, who was one of the greatest literary figures of the 20th century.

Ambassador Nicholas Twist

Yeats’s life and oeuvre were presented by the renowned poet, translator and director of the Cultural Foundation of the National Bank of Greece, Dionysis Kapsalis and the Ambassador of Ireland in Cyprus Mr. Nicholas Twist, while members of the Theatre Workshop of the University of Cyprus recited selected poems by W. B. Yeats in Greek and English.
