The Ambassador briefed the Students of the English School in Nicosia on Irish foreign policy and principles, such as disarmament and non-proliferation, human rights, and sustainable development. The students will be participating in the Model United Nations gathering in The Hague. Each school draws by lot a country to represent in the debates, modelled on the actual United Nations bodies, such as the General Assembly. The English School will be representing Ireland.

The Ambassador found the students well-prepared and engaged, with good questions that demonstrated they had done their research. He wished them well in the competition, and congratulated the teachers on the collective effort.
