The Embassy will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a concert of traditional Irish music.

The Embassy of Ireland in Croatia will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a concert of traditional Irish music at Zagreb's Croatian Music Institute on the evening of Thursday,17 March 2016. Ambassador Tim Harrington is proud to announce that some of Ireland's finest musicians will perform at the celebration: Diarmaid Moynihan (uilleann pipe), Fionnuala Moynihan (piano) and Donncha Moynihan (guitar). The musical trio will perform two sets of music that will include traditional songs such as the Ballydesmond Polkas, Inisheer, The Sligo Jig Set, Lark in the Morning and many other favourites.

More than 200 guests are expected to attend the gala event at the venerable music hall in the centre of the city. Amongst the guests will be members of the ever-growing Irish community in Croatia, national and local political authorities, the diplomatic corps, business leaders, representatives of media and culture circles, as well as friends of the Embassy.

Ambassador Harrington will address the guests at the beginning of the event and reference the importance of the 1916-2016 Centenary to the Irish around the world, which makes this St. Patrick's Day celebration even more important.

The national anthems of Ireland and Croatia will be sung by Jasmina Makota.

The concert will be followed by a reception.

This will be the second St. Patrick's Day celebration organised by the Embassy of Ireland. The first one was held last year when the Embassy was officially opened.
