Ambassador speaks at Confucius Institute Open Day

Ambassador Kavanagh delivered a keynote speech at the second Confucius Institute Headquarters Open Day event which was held on 25 September at the Beijing headquarters of Confucius Institute. The theme of the event was "Cultural Exchanges and World Peace".

The event was attended by 500 guests, including diplomats from 38 countries, representatives of cultural institutes, and Mandarin teachers and learners.

There are 495 Confucius Institutes and 1,000 Confucius Classes in 134 countries across the globe. The three Institutes on the island of Ireland are located at UCD, UCC and University of Ulster.
