St Patrick’s Day Family Concert

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Melbourne

The Embassy is delighted to be able to lend support to the Melbourne branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann’s commemoration of 1916.

On St Patrick’s Day Comhaltas will host an evening of music, songs, poetry dedicated to the memory of 1916.

The evening will include guest speaker Dr. Frances Devlin-Glass who will talk about the contribution of Cumann na mBan.

Later in April (date to be advised) some of Comhaltas members and supporters who will have travelled to Ireland to take part in the centenary commemorations, will give talks to the branch on their experiences.

Comhaltas musicians will also be performing at the National Folk Festival in Canberra and at the National Celtic Festival in Portarlington and will give a brief talk to the audience about 1916 and sing Mna na hEireann and other related music and songs.
