Monuments in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo Go Green for St. Patrick's Day

Christ the Redeemer gone green for St. Patrick's Day

As part of Tourism Ireland's campaign, five sites in Rio and São Paulo were "greened" to mark St. Patrick's Day. During her visit, Minister Jan O'Sullivan formally announced the greening of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, while four sites were illuminated in São Paulo:

  • Viaduto do Chá
  • Bibiloteca Mário de Andrade
  • Monumento ás Bandeiras
  • Ponte das Bandeiras

The Consulate General of Ireland in São Paulo would like to extend sincere thanks to the Office of the Mayor of São Paulo and the Office of the Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro for their kind cooperation in celebrating St. Patrick's Day in these two cities.
