Ireland is lucky to have a diaspora who makes a meaningful contribution to our country, whether they're building economic development, raising awareness of our culture, or creating a positive image of Ireland here in Britain.

Emigrant Support Programme

We provide grants to Irish organisations in Great Britain, focusing in particular on the most vulnerable of our emigrants.

Presidential Award

The Presidential Distinguished Service Award for the Irish Abroad recognises sustained, distinguished service to Ireland, its communities abroad or its international reputation by those living abroad.

ESAC

The Emigrant Services Advisory Committee (ESAC), formerly known as the Díon Committee, was established in 1984 to advise the Government on issues of concern to the Irish community in Britain.

St. Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick’s Day is a global celebration of what it means to be Irish and the Embassy uses the opportunity every March to celebrate with Irish communities and to showcase Ireland.

Irish Culture

Promoting Irish culture is an important part of the Consulate General's work. We work with key organisations to enhance the opportunities to enjoy Irish culture, including music, poetry theatre and craft.
