Huawei is a leading ICT solutions provider with global revenues $46.5 billion in 2014. Recognised as one of the most innovative ICT companies, Huawei is the preferred supplier for 45 of the top 50 telecom carriers in the world and it has growing consumer and enterprise divisions. Huawei has an ever increasing presence in Ireland where it employs 130 people.

As Vice-President for Global Public Affairs, Dave is based in Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen in China from where he co-ordinates the firm's digital agenda strategies with governments around the world.

Between 2010 – 2014, David was a member of the cabinet of the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science where he had responsibility for advising on the international aspects connected to these policies. During this period he was also the sherpa for the European Union for G8 summits covering research, innovation and science matters. He was formerly a political advisor in the European Parliament covering industry, trade, foreign affairs and communications issues. Dave is a qualified solicitor and he holds a masters in law degree from University College Dublin.
